The Long-Term Record of a Political Party Counts the Most

If you are interested in a better quality of life -- then you should look at the long-term record of each political party and how their members in congress and in the executive branch stood and voted, over a 67 year or so period of time of each parties political life.

This will tell you where their true values are and, whether they are for a better quality of life for you and the majority of our people.

Look up and study the issues that will have the biggest impact on everyone's life and then rate the candidates and their party accordingly. It is very rare that you can separate a candidate from the philosophy of their political party.

The List of Quality of Life Bills Passed is a long one

I'll get a list of some of the major quality of life and living bills that were passed during that 67 year period of the governing process.

We should all remember the emergency actions that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt took to help the reduce the impact that the Great Depression of the 1930's was having on the people.

The Social Security Act, all of the many labor laws, the right to organize labor unions, the pollution control bills. All of which were fought by the Republican's with all of there arguments that have proven to be groundless. They said most of those bills would ruin the economy and destroy the business sector.

However, everyone of those bills improved not only the quality of life for working people but the increased earning power of working people bolstered up the demand side of the economy and aided and supported its expansion.

Don't be fooled by rhetoric designed to get votes; the Republicans still hold the same underlying beliefs as do the Democrats. It just so happens that the more liberal Democratic beliefs and ideals are on the right side of the quality of life issue.

The Question to ask Yourself is, Which Candidate for that Office has the most Experience and is on the Quality of Life side of the Issues?

The elected Democratic Party members over the last 67 years has sponsored and passed the bills that substantially improved the quality of our lives while the elected Republican Party members stood against those advances and voted against those advances in the quality of our Lives!

The Economic Living Sustenance of 6 Billion Human Beings Reside within these Global Economic Policy Making Issues

Nothing is more important to 6 billion human beings than a fair opportunity to earn a livelihood. Large portions of that number have scant little opportunity to earn a decent standard of living. We must create a capitalist economic system with mutual win-win policies and practices that will remedy the existing win-lose zero—sum economic policy relationship equations.

The first essential is to understand the gigantic economic production cost differentials that exist between countries, and especially between First and Third World countries. There are several types of differentials; there are the long term and rather static structural differentials that can not be easily changed or manipulated. Then, there are the economic policy making differentials of a more dynamic nature that represent the more easily manipulated economic policies of: interest rates, monetary valuations, and other regulatory types.

Additionally, there are many controlling factors and factions of a global nature, such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and a multiplicity of other financial and political organizations that are skewing the policy making process. Many of these lending and insuring institutions' control access to capital, and protect borrowers by attaching various conditions to access privileges.  Through these controlling mechanisms, global institutions become the controllers of the economic policies of countries, which results in the loss of governing sovereignty by the people. We must fashion a model of capitalism and economic policies that will remedy these existing shortcomings and that will block these new one-sided corporate-country agreements.

The corporations with the help of the International Development Association (IDA), the International Bank For Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the World Bank's lending policies along with the policies of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and other global financial institutions have the power to deny countries their needed loans. Also, they could call existing loans and thus have the power to force agreements on countries while bypassing citizenry involvement. That means: no available loans, no investment moneys and therefore no economy!

Towards a More Democratic Capitalism

by Jeff Gates

If America is serious about expanding the winners' circle, we
need a capitalism that creates more capitalists. Current trends
confirm that despite all our economic progress over the past
few years, the rising tide of the New Economy is not lifting all
                      boats:

The net worth of the top one percent of Americans is
now greater than that of the bottom 90 percent,
according to research from the Federal Reserve and
                           the Internal Revenue Service.

Although average household income climbed 10
percent between 1979 and 1994, 97 percent of that
gain was claimed by the most well-to-do 20 percent.

However, the corporate media see no reason to cover these issues. At this point in time the Corporate interest doesn't realize that they will also be enabled to prosper in on-going sustainable ways that will eliminate the problem of lack of equity of economic opportunity for all. When all sectors of an economy prosper together in a win-win economic relationship equation in compliance with ecological systems we lift the quality of life to optimal levels for everyone. This is the way to unimagined levels of genuine peace and prosperity within each country on a worldwide basis.

Take some time and learn where your vote will do the most good for the most people.
