Political Campaigns and the Common Wealth

        with Darrell Udelhoven

The Focus of America's Political Campaigns is not on the Common Wealth Issues of Critical Concern to the Electorate

Political Campaigns should be focused on 'the Common Wealth Issues of the body politic' and not on the Political Party Politic. The moderators of these debates do not have the requisite savvy to raise the issues that have the greatest impact on our lives. The issues of incentivizing the development and use of renewable resources on a worldwide basis along with the recycling of precious metals and other materials is essential to the future prosperity and well being of all of humanity. However, not a word by the corporate media or the major party candidates.

What are the Common Wealth Issues of America and the world citizenry?

    1. The critical worldwide need to replace the scarce existing energy resources with non-polluting renewable energy resources along with the recycling, with that renewable energy, the precious metals and other materials needed to prevent future scarcities.

    2.
    3. The need to develop worldwide global fair trade and investment policies that energize all economies from the bottom up. We must have an in-depth discussion and debate on the World Trade Organization's structure and on all global economic policy making scenarios.

    4.
    5. The crucial need to provide all the major economic interest classes with access to, and to be enabled to broadcast nationally and worldwide. Labor, family farmers, and small business operators need access to national and global broadcasting resources to communicate their common-wealth political and economic policy concerns. We have the satellite and cable systems that can now present unlimited opportunities but we need facilitating regulation to help make access a reality. All the major economic interest classes need to be enabled to mass communicate with their constituents. We will soon be broadcasting from the Internet, however, there must be balance in all BR. categories.

    6.
    7. The ability to limit the powers of the Federal Reserve Board and controlling inflation with other more effective methods that result in win win economic scenarios for both the lenders and the borrowers.

    8.
    9. The setting of global economic policies that will permit farmers around the world an opportunity to earn a decent living and be enabled to buy land along with being enabled to borrow money at sufficiently low interest rates so they can pay off their debts.

    10.
    11. Yes, campaign finance reform is an important issue essential to a functioning Representative Republic and has been discussed sufficiently in meaningful ways. When this issue is articulated properly the electorate will vote for candidates who support it. All of these things can be done and they must be done if we are to have peace and prosperity coupled with a sovereign governing citizenry.
    12.
A better way is to reform the unjust global and national economic policies that reduce the per capita real earning power of the masses worldwide. There are many ways to do this, including using tariffs, quotas and other policies to stop the corporate exploitation of both First and Third world peoples and their economies, along with reforming stock market investing and currency trading regulations.
The negative personality ploys and dirty infighting including attacks on President Clinton, need to stop! They are detrimental to politics and political participation and side track what should be an enlightening and meaningful political process. The worthless media focuses on the horse race and the tactics  and personalities of the candidates and wouldn't think of raising vital issues on behalf of the public interest, need, and necessity.
