A
Real
Political
Issue of the highest Order -
Is it time to set some new policy-making
standards?
Why
do they hate us?
Do they
have reason or cause to hate us?
Have we resolved the Injustice?
Why
do they hate us? Do they have
reason or cause
to
hate
us? Have we resolved the obvious foreign policy injustices that our
government has incurred over decades? Do they have cause to hate us due
to our unjust foreign policies?
How did we attempt to resolve the injustice existing between Palestine
and Israel? The U.S. and the U.N. can not take sides and then be able
to arbitrate an
unbiased justice between these critically important countries. The
"Soft Power of Justice," when done in a timely manner, eliminates the
horrendous
costs of war and terrorism. Righteous and just stitches in time, will
save
more than we can rhyme.
Are we too ignorant to recognize the injustice of the policies of our
countries past
leaders, and what those policies have done to all those various
countries. Consider what the
Bush leadership has done to the humanity of the millions of innocent
Iraqi people? It is
very easy
for a powerful country to make enemies when they do not use sufficient
wisdom in its use.
Immediately after 911, our president launched a tirade of rhetoric,
labeling the "alleged" perpetrators as "The Axis of Evil." Of course,
the act was
inherently evil. AS I recall, initially, Ben Laden denied any part of
911.(?) I
have some doubts concerning the later strange videos wherein he takes
credit for
the 911 attacks. Were they phony, doctored videos?
President Bush claimed that they hate us because of who we are, and
because of what we stand for. I am wondering if you have any idea
concerning all the real reasons that they hate us. You probably can not
cite
many, if any, of the real reasons for their hatred of America's
leadership. Most Iraqi people did
not hate our leadership or us, until Desert Storm, the deadly
sanctions, and
the on-going bombings after Desert Storm. We destroyed the entire
infrastructure of their country. Our tax money has killed and maimed
100s of thousands of Iraqi men, women, and children, in our name! How
would you feel if that had been
done to our country? Baghdad is comparable to LA, could you
imagine what such an attack on
LA would be like?
<>
Who are we as a nation? What do we stand for as
a nation as demonstrated by our policies? What does
Holy Scripture say concerning our policy-making?
You fill in the answer to these
questions... .
The
Principle
of
Unintended Consequences
The "unintended consequences" of immoral and
unrighteous
ways and means toward trying to achieve righteous ends can be
catastrophic. World opinion is standing in judgment of the means
proposed and used to attain peace, and mutual worldwide prosperity.
We stand to lose rather than gain by massive
air
attacks
on Iraq. Inspection teams were functioning in Iraq, if our country
continues to bombs Iraq or launches an all out attach on Iraq, those
gains could
be lost. The odds are that everyone will lose if a wrong immoral means
is
used.
In
all Human
Relationships - Applying Wisdom toward the Choice of "Means to Ends" is
of Paramount
Importance
In our modern age of worldwide mass media,
the
power of
world opinion will reign supreme. Intelligence and wisdom must go hand
in hand, we can not afford the unwise decisions of the Vietnam War. We
must do away with actions that lead to hatred and revenge.
Leaders
must
learn to
listen to the Voices of Common People
This time the voices are being raised
worldwide
that are
requesting that there be no military actions and no killing. In the
past, those voices were ignored. This time I believe leaders maybe
listening.
President
Bush, let Wisdom be your Guide - keep World Opinion on our Side
Always remember that the attempt
to
overcome an evil act
such as mass killing and maiming with mass killing and maiming
represents an attempt to use an evil means to overcome evil. Sound
reasoning coupled with wisdom stipulates that we are to overcome evil
with good, honorable, and righteous means to attain good, honorable,
and righteous ends.
The misuse of deadly horrific
destructive
means, that are
inherently evil, will merely multiply on a massive scale hatred by
those who fall
victim to the use of the devils tools toward the perpetrators. If your
means
destroys life and the sources of life, it is it is an evil tool of the
devil
and will multiply the forces of hatred and evil in many realms. Then of
course, —the forces of killing and hatred feed on themselves and spread
like a forest fire out of control.
The real enemy is not the common
people
who will suffer and
die,
but the evil tools and tactics that are being used by both sides in an
attempt to achieve what each side believes are just, righteous, and
moral ends.
All parties must learn that to
achieve
their goals they
must
use
in their pursuit of peace—honorable, moral, and ethical means that are
righteous and that achieve mutually beneficial ends. This also applies
to all systems, policies and practices whether political, economic, or
judicial.
