A Biblical
defense of
the Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright March 20, 2008
Holy Scripture
Confirms that what Reverend Dr. Jeremiah
Wright
said
was RIGHT & JUSTIFIED in respect to Christ's commandments.
Holy Scripture
is a
defense regarding the statements of Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright
Jr., that were labeled unpatriotic & racist.
Reverend Dr.
Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. (born September 22, 1941) is a former pastor of
Trinity United Church of Christ, a largely African-American
megachurch in Chicago with 10,000 members. He retired on February 10,
2008, after 36 years as the senior pastor of that congregation. His
career has been controversial, and in 2008, he became the focus of
national attention when several sermons criticized as
racially-inflammatory and anti-American were publicized by the media in
connection to Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Source,

UPDATE: 04/25/08; on Bill Moyers
Journal, Rev. Wright was Moyers' only guest,
the Reverend is vindicated in what he said.
Watch the
full program before making any judgments concerning what Rev. Wright
said & what he preaches. Had all the other religious leaders stood
on the Word of God there would have been NO invasion of Iraq!

Moyers interview with Rev. Wright - Listen to or Watch

---------------
Yes, the false
perception
is that the statements were outrageous, however, Reverend Wright
stated in the video, that it is in the
Bible, - and therefore let us go
to the New
Testament and to the words and commandments of
Jesus Christ to clarify and explain what Reverend Dr. Jeremiah
Wright said, were not unpatriotic
statements but his Scriptural conclusions.
Concerning the invasion of Iraq: "Well, I can understand the theory of
wanting to free people," President
Ford
said,
referring to Bush's assertion that the United States has a "duty
to free people." But the former president said he was skeptical
"whether you can detach that from the obligation number one, of what's
in our national interest." He added: "And I just don't think we should
go 'hellfire damnation' around the globe
freeing people, unless it is
directly related to our own national security.
JUST WAR DOCTRINE: The strict
conditions for legitimate defense by
military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a
decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy.
At one and the same time:
- the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community
of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
- all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to
be impractical or ineffective;
- there must be serious prospects of success;
- the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than
the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction
weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition.
These are the
traditional elements enumerated in what is called the
"just war" doctrine. The evaluation of these conditions for moral
legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have
responsibility for the common good.
Take your Red Lettered Bible
and read the Words & Commandments
of
Jesus Christ from Matthew
through Revelation. In Revelations' Christ
speaks to the church concerning its WORKS Rev 2:26 "And to he who
overcomes, and keeps My WORKS until the end, to him I will give power
over the nations--" We have to DO the
WORKS of His Word to reap the
blessings & fruits thereof. We will be judged most harshly &
suffer the most consequences & damnation
due to our Cardinal Sins
of Omission.
I will take the
first statement which was: "not God bless America, but God damn
America."
First we need to
go to the dictionary and look up the definition of
damn damnable and damnation. 1 a) to condemn as guilty 2 to condemn as
bad or inferior: often used in the imperative as a curse 3 to criticize
adversely 4 to cause the ruin of; or to make fail. Now take a good
THESAURUS & look up CONDEMNATION [TO SEND TO
PUNISHMENT] Syn. damn, condemn, convict, sentence,
find
guilty, punish, etc.
Using Biblical
Commandments what are the consequences of violating or
failure to do the WORKS of His WORD in His commandments, could it be
condemnation or damnation? Read Christ's Words & Commandments &
tell me how our elected leaders
justify invading & destroying a sovereign country & its
citizens futures without suffer any condemnation/damnation, rather than Christ's
Blessings. We can NOT ask our Lord to bless us when we are unwilling to
do the WORKS of His Word. Injustice spawns hatred that fuels revenge,
resulting in mad deadly terrorist acts.
The best synonym
for damn or damnation is condemn or condemnation. Now in
accordance
with the Words and Commandments of Jesus Christ in Holy Scripture let
us see how Holy Scripture would condemn America for our elected
leaders (possible unjust & unrighteous) foreign-policy actions.
(This is also true for domestic-policy actions.) Many Republicans
& media pundits are
damning &
condemning a life long Doctor of Divinity that knows more about
the Spiritual Realm then they could ever begin to comprehend! Judge NOT
that ye be Not judged!
They waved their
flags a shout absentees at those that marched for
peace & called them Peace Nikes, etc.
Many super patriots sanctioned &
supported the invasion of Iraq,
which was a
violation of the Words & Commandments of Jesus Christ & of all
Universal Moral Principles! Therefore,
"Who is RIGHT & JUSTIFIED,"
Rev.
Dr. Jeremiah Wright, for saying that America will be damned for
disobeying those eternal Sacred Commandments or those that wave their
flags & condemn & damn those who follow & support eternal
moral based Scriptural Truths?
By the
way, no one can demand or command that God or Christ
condemn, damn, or bless anyone or any country. It is my overwhelming
belief that
your country as well as all of we human beings are either blessed or
damned
(condemned to suffering of varying degrees) depending on whether you do
the
works of the Holy Scriptures or are guilty of many Cardinal Sins of
Omission or
are guilty of doing many commissioned sins. To the degree, that Holy
Scripture
is violated will be the degree of our own countries & our
individual “degree
of suffering violation damnation.” That may not sound good to you
however, I
firmly believe those are universal moral
realities that none of us can change.
Christians
& others, I want you to turn
to Matthew in the New Testament and read the words and commandments of
Jesus Christ. When you read Christ's Holy Words and Commandments you
must
first realize that many of those words and commandments are actions and
works that we are commanded to carry out in all of our relationships,
be
they personal or corporate, state or national in origin.
Begin reading
the Red Letter Words of Christ at Matt 4:4. Matt 5:39 "but I tell you
not to resist an evil person but who ever slept you and your right
cheek, turn the other to him also. Matt 5:43 - 48. Read the entire
book of Matthew to gain insight and discernment concerning right &
wrong, good and evil, sins of omission and commissioned sins.
Our
nation will suffer the greatest consequences
due to our “sins of omission,” by not
doing the works of the Word and
Commandments in Holy Scripture. Therefore, our nation and all of
us
automatically receive the condemnation and damnation to the degree that
we do not do the works in
accordance as Christians with the words and
commandments of Jesus Christ scribed in Holy Scripture.
There are also
devastating commissioned sins that our country and we have been guilty
of, for example, unjust foreign-policies both by our government, also
because of the character and greed of multinational corporations. All
forms of injustice and unrighteousness in our relationships with other
nations and the human beings that live in those nations can spawn
hatred separatism and division, which leads to terrorist acts.
Therefore, the problem in our world will reside within the spiritual
realm and can only be made worse by using deadly and destructive
military force such as the invasion of a sovereign country known as
Iraq. Identifying the core enemy is the first step in eliminating that
enemy.
Therefore, the
resource that has the potential to save trillions in trillions of
dollars in millions of lives and he changed a hell on earth to heaven
honors resides in the spiritual realm and not in the military realm.
Therefore the most important skill of a president and those who deal in
foreign-policy is a skill of effective communications using the only
resource that has the legitimate potential to reduce injustice and
unrighteousness in all human
relationships thereby, help reduce the
hatred that must be purged from the thoughts and minds of all of
humanity.
On a national basis the church has
finally come to the defense of the
Rev. Dr. Wright and Trinity
United Church
of Christ.
Additionally,
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King made similar true statements
concerning race & the Vietnam war. It behooves all of us to speak
truth to reality & to power in high places. Finally, I am not alone
& am vindicated in my defense of the most Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright.
