Using broadcast media to facilitate the building of virtuous civic/citizenship character. We, as a nation and world, must achieve a higher insight into the value of implementing "virtuous character principles" into all policy making processes and stratagems. These, universal prosperity based principles apply to all institutions and policies worldwide. My other pages emphasize the importance of a righteously principled character: in ourvalues, ideas, purposes, and the righteously principled means to achieve our principle based ends. The quality of our character determines the quality of our relationships. The higher the level of our world citizenry's virtuous character qualities the richer and more meaningful our lives will be.
Formal education must be much more than the three R's, for character building is the foundation on which to build a secure and prosperous future for all of the world's peoples. Everything we do, speak, or communicate is an instrument for good or evil; it is either constructive or destructive. We are all at the same time teachers and students.
All of mass communications and especially broadcasting should be effectively utilized to build virtuous civic character within the entire human community, worldwide.
I remember writing years ago the following: The most powerful force, attribute, or resource— is that of communications— both personal and mass communications. Of the two, mass communications has the power to educate and lift the citizenry of nations and yes, the world citizenry. This begs the question of how we are using this most powerful of resources.
If you were to take a huge blackboard and draw a circle as close to the edge as possible, the outer corners would be symbolizing the marginalization of civic affairs broadcast programming. The majority of our population is denied the bountiful fruits this fantastic resource has the potential to provide.
