100 gr. Remington's Core-Lokt Ultra IMR-7828 | 54 to 56 grains | 56 grs. of IMR 7828 Powder | Fed 215 PRIs | Mule Deer & Elk

I do not use 100-gr Nosler Partition or 87 gr. Hornady V-Max bullets in my 243/06 Wildcat rifle-
the core and jacket can and did separate in flight with these two bullets!

95 gr. Hornady SST .355 B.C. |H-1000  59 grains | 59 grs. of H-1000 | Fed 215 | mid long range on Antelope
    Recoil: 12.69 ft/lbs free recoil     9.53 fps rifle's recoil    2.66 ft/lbs  -  Figured @ 58 grs powder not 59 grs

95 gr. Hornady SST .355 B.C. | +56 grs. of IMR 7828 Powder | Fed 215 PRIs | 3450-fps; Long range on Deer
95 gr. Hornady SST .355 B.C. | H-4831 50 to

Also, 95 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips  Same loads .398 B.C., Deer, Antelope, and Coyotes

85 gr. Sierra HPBT | H-4831  54.0 to 56.0 grains | RL-19  50 to 54 grs.  | Zone-T Deer - Antelope, +200-yards only
H-414 From 50 to 52.0 grains | Up one grain | Fed 215 mag pri

80 gr., SD: .194; BC .319 | Sierra Blitz | | H-414  53-grs to + 54 grains |Fed 215 Mag PRI   RL-19  +54.0 grains | Fed 215 mag pri | coyotes Red Fox - Recoil: 11 ft/lbs    9 ft/sec   2.45 lbs/sec
70 gr., SD: .169 BC: .299 | Sierra Blitzking H-414  54 to 55 grs Fed 215 pri | I Need to test this light-bullet load | Coyotes Red Fox

80 gr is the lightest weight bullets I have used in my 243/06 Wildcat's 1-10 twist and higher velocity. Heavy bullets work better in oversized cases. I might try, if I get to hunt this 2007 coyote hunting season, 70 & 75-gr bullets for accuracy in my 243/06 aka 6mm-06, to use on coyotes

Sectional density (SD) is the same irrespective of bullet shape, here is a list of 6mm SD's: 55-gr .133; 58-gr .140; 60-gr .145; 65-gr .157; 70-gr .169; 75-gr .181; 80 .194; 87-gr .210; 90-gr .218; 95 .230; 100 .242; 105-gr .252.  Here's the SD equation: SD is the ratio of bullet weight to the square of the bullets diameter.

Example: | .243 X's .243= .059049 (65-gr / 7000 grs per pound= .0092857 / .059049= .157-SD) Figure your own caliber/bullet SD.

Use a no-go gauge and trim and ream the necks, also anneal the necks. Study the page below - click on Annealing Necks!

I don't use below 80 grain bullets in my 243/06 Wildcat; erroneously known as a 6mm/06 Wildcat.

I got jacket/core separation shooting the Nosler 100-grain  Partition bullet in my 243/06.
Also, stopped using it and the 87-grain Nosler V-Max bullet same problem, core/jacket separation.

Stay away from fired government 30/06 cases.  I now buy 25/06 unporimed cases and merely neck them down to .243
If you notice any of these signs below, stop shooting and find the cause before firing any more.

I performed a 95 gr SST bullet terminal test with my 243/06 at only 16 long paces with two one gallon plastic milk jugs filled with water lined up with a short distance between them. The bullet totally blew-up the first one and blew the second water jug up leaving the remainder of the bullet's copper jacket inside it.  The remaining jacket only weighed 22.2 grains of the original 95 grains. I haven't tried the three or four lined up using the 100 grain Nosler partition, yet! [243/06 Wildcat aka 6mm-06 Wildcat]

I would only use this bullet and load on broadside lung shots mid to long range.

A better deep penetration terminal bullet is Remington's Core-Lokt Ultra - below

Remington Core-Lokt Ultra 100 grain 243 Wincester at 25 yds                                          Remington Core-Lokt Ultra 100 grain 243 Win at 25 yards

Side view - bullet's base on left side ( New Core- Lokt Ultra in 243 Win @ 25 yds 100 gr bullet retained 84.8 gr.) nose view

Now (11-07-05) Remington has the new 243 Winchester 100 grain Remington Core-Lokt Ultra 'Bonded' bullet.
I plan to try the new bonded cartridges in 243 Win caliber on big WI Bucks

====================
Found a "24-06 Ackley Improved" Loads - It has more powder capacity than my 243/06 Wildcat !
A larger case than my 243/06 Wildcat, allowing for more powder:
58-grs RL 22 using a 95-gr Nosler Partition bullet est., 3641-fps

IMR 7828-powder  58 grs |  95 gr Nosler Partition - very accurate load; 3523-fps mv

With any bullet you feed it, 3/4" groups at 100-yds - Link below
